FAQs
What is the cost of the marriage counselling sessions?
Each fifty-minute session costs £70. Ordinarily, this cost should be met by the couple. In cases of low income, you may be able to request some of this cost to be met by your local parish or by the diocesan Marriage & Family Life Office. This will be fully explained during the initial contact.
How long will each session last?
Each session will last for fifty minutes. Please try to arrive at least five minutes before your scheduled time, to ensure your session begins on time.
Will the counsellor offer instructive advice?
Our counsellor offers professional accompaniment and will not offer direct advice on what decisions spouses should make in their marriage. Our service offers a confidential environment to facilitate discussion, healing and growth around the issues affecting their married lives. Vitally, it is up to couples to decide the proper action to take to alleviate marital issues.
Is the counsellor accredited by the Catholic Church for counselling?
Our counsellors have signed a written agreement to work within the parameters of faith-based counselling, and to respect the ethos of the Church and her sacramental doctrines.
